Ciplox 10ml eye drop treats certain eye infections caused by bacteria. It contains the active ingredient ciprofloxacin hydrochloride, a group of drugs known as fluoroquinolone antibiotic. The eye drops usually prescribe to treat corneal ulcer (an ulcer on the surface of your eye) or bacterial conjunctivitis. Â
Wash your hands before using Ciplox ophthalmic solution. Tilt your head and pull the lower eyelid gently downwards to form a pocket between the eyelid and eye. Squeeze the bottle to release one drop into the pocket and close your eyes for a few seconds. This will help stop the eye medication from draining through the tear duct to the throat and nose, from where it can be absorbed into other parts of the body. Avoid blinking or rubbing your eye. Do not touch the tip of your dropper to the surface of the eye. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before putting the ophthalmic solution in your eye. You may wear your lenses again after 15 minutes. Initially, you may feel a slight burning sensation in the eye shortly after using the eye medication. If this burning sensation persists or becomes troublesome, speak to your doctor straight away. If you have any doubt about the medicine usage or when to discontinue treatment, call your doctor straight away.
Do not use Ciplox 10ml if you are allergic to Ciprofloxacin or any other quinolone antibiotics or other medicine ingredients. The symptoms of an allergic reaction may include wheezing, shortness of breath, swelling of the tongue, lips, throat, or other parts of the body. Do not use the ophthalmic solution in your eyes while you are wearing contact lenses. The preservatives added to the eye drops may be deposited in soft lenses. It is not recommended to wear contact lenses during the treatment of an eye infection. Do not use Ciplox 10 ml eye drops to treat other infections unless your doctor tells you to. Do not stop using Ciprofloxacin by speaking to your doctor. Ciplox eye drop may affect you and your vision. Be careful while driving or operating machinery that requires your complete attention.
