Thyronorm 75mcg is prescribed for treating the underactive thyroid gland. The pill works to replace hormones that are not sufficiently produced by your thyroid gland. This medicine also helps to regulate a body’s metabolism and energy.
Thyronorm is a synthetic version of thyroxine. Hypothyroidism is a condition when your body does not produce enough thyroxine. Weight gain, tiredness, muscle aches, depression etc., are common symptoms of hypothyroidism. Thyronorm raises your hormone level to the right amount to enable you to get rid of these symptoms. This is usually a lifelong medication and should not be discontinued without consulting a doctor.
Levothyroxine is the main salt composition of Thronorm 75mcg.
Your doctor may ask you for a certain blood test to determine the dosage level of your condition. You may need a regular blood test to see the medicine's efficacy and the dose adjustment from time to time.
Thyronorm 75mcg is to be taken empty stomach before breakfast. Take this medicine regularly to achieve maximum benefits. It may take several weeks to start improving your symptoms. In most cases, Thyronorm must be taken for the rest of your life, as the symptoms will likely to reverse if you stop taking it.
Take the dosage prescribed by your doctor. Swallow a tablet with a glass of water, preferably 1st thing in the morning.
Thyronorm can cause weight loss, but that doesn't mean taking this medicine for treating obesity. Inform your doctor about your current medication for the existing disease, if any.
