Syndopa plus 25/100 is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of idiopathic Parkinson's disease, a disease of the nervous system that mainly affects body movement. The common signs of the condition are muscle stiffness, shaking, slow and steady movement. People who have Parkinson’s disease often walk with a shuffle which can be bothersome and interfere with daily life. Syndopa Plus combines Carbidopa and Levodopa as active ingredients. As per research studies, the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease are related to the depletion of dopamine in the brain.  Administration of dopamine is not the solution because it does not cross the blood-brain barrier. However, Levodopa, known as the metallic precursor of dopamine, does cross the blood-brain barrier and converted not dopamine in the brain. It is believed that Levodopa relieves symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.
Take Syndopa Plus 25/100 only when prescribed by the doctor. Your doctor will tell you how many tablets to take each day. The dose varies as per patient’s condition. The usual dose of the medicine is 25/100 mg three times a day. Your doctor will adjust as per your condition as well as your response to the treatment. Follow all the directions given by your doctor.
The anti-Parkinson’s drug helps control some of your symptoms of Parkinson’s disease but does not cure the condition. Your doctor may want to gradually reduce the amount of the combination drug you are using before stopping completely.
Do not take Syndopa Plus 25/100 if you have an allergy to Levodopa and carbidopa or any other medicine ingredients. You have any unusual skin lumps, glaucoma or are being treated for depression. Discuss with your doctor if you are not sure whether you are taking any one of these medications. If you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. Do not give the medication to a child or teenager below 18 years unless advised by the child’s doctor. There is no evidence that the medication is effective and safe to use in children. You must tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, including those you buy without a prescription. Some medicines may interfere with each other. These include medicines to treat high blood pressure, depression, psychiatric problems, convulsion, tuberculosis, psychiatric problems, iron supplements or multivitamins.
Tell your doctor as soon as possible if you do not feel well while taking Syndopa Plus 25/100. The combination medicine helps most people with Parkinson’s disease, but like other medicines, it may have unwanted adverse effects in a few people.  Some people may experience serious side effects that require immediate medical attention, while other experience mild side effects that resolve within a few days. The common ones include nausea, dizziness, headache, confusion, hallucinations, dyskinesia, dyspepsia, dry mouth, constipation, upper respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, back pain, chest pain, muscle cramps, shoulder pain, paresthesia, etc. Other adverse experiences reported in the clinical trials include weight loss, gastrointestinal pain, hypertension, palpitations, myocardial infarction, fatigue, abdominal pain, blurred vision, cough, rash, urinary incontinence, common cold, heartburn, and dysphagia.
