Silodal 8 mg treats benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) symptoms in men. It contains the active ingredient Silodosin, an alpha-adrenergic antagonist that helps relieve symptoms like difficulty passing urine. However, it is not meant to decrease the size of the prostate. Silodosin functions by relaxing the prostate and bladder muscles allowing easy urine flow.
Silodal 8 mg should be taken as per prescription. A doctor determines the dosage for this drug. It can be taken with food; one can swallow the capsule without chewing or crushing it. You should not stop taking medicine without speaking to your doctor, as it may worsen the symptoms. It is important to complete the course of treatment.
Silodal 8 mg is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Do not take this medicine if you have liver or kidney problems. Tell your doctor if you have low blood pressure or are undergoing cataract surgery. Also, you should inform your doctor about your current medications, including prescription, and non-prescription drugs (vitamins and herbal supplements), as they may interact with Silodal 8 mg and cause unwanted effects.

Common side effects of Silodal include diarrhoea, blurred vision, headache, retrograde ejaculation, nasal congestion, sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing, and inflammation of the throat and nasal passages.
