Serobid Rotacap 50 mcg is prescribed to control the symptoms caused by asthma. Salmeterol xinafoate is a beta antagonist that provides long-lasting relaxation of the smooth muscles of the air passages. Thus this drug is used for controlling and preventing the symptoms caused by asthma-like wheezing and shortness of breath. Salmeterol is the main active drug present in Serobid - 50 mcg Rotacaps. Salmeterol is available in a Rotacaps dosage form. It is an effective medication that provides symptomatic relief and prevents Asthma, Chronic bronchitis and chronic disorders of pulmonary glands.
Serobid is available in the form of Rotacaps (capsules). Rotacaps should not be swallowed; it is to be taken by inhalation only through the Rotahaler device. Always check its cleanliness before use. Take the Rotacap and insert the capsule in the Rotahaler by keeping it upright and then rotating to a horizontal position by keeping the white spot up. This leads to the opening of the capsule shell. Then, gently breathe out and seal your lips around the mouthpiece. Take a full, deep breath in your mouth and hold your breath for up to ten seconds. After that, take a normal breath and throw away the empty capsule shell. You should always confirm with your doctor that you are taking medicine in the right way as prescribed by the doctor.
Do not use Serobid Rotacaps 50 mcg if you are allergic to salmeterol or other inactive ingredients of the medicine. Â Patients who recently had congestive heart failure should consult their doctor before taking this medicine. Patients who suffer from a low level of potassium in the blood should avoid taking this medicine.
