Rozavel EZ contains two medicines, rosuvastatin and ezetimibe, to lower cholesterol. It is prescribed with a diet in adults with high blood cholesterol levels to reduce low-density cholesterol (LDL-C) or bad cholesterol. The combination medicine is also given with other LDL-lowering medicines in adults with high cholesterol to reduce LDL-C.
Take Rozavel EZ exactly as prescribed. Take the tablet one time each day with or without food. Swallow the pill with a glass of water, and avoid chewing or crushing the tablet. Keep taking Rozavel unless your doctor tells you to stop. If you discontinue treatment, your cholesterol may rise again.
Rozavel EZ should not be in patients with acute liver failure or decompensated cirrhosis. Its use is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity, ezetimibe, or any excipients of the medicine. Before you take Rozavel EZ, inform your doctor about all your medical issues, including if you have unexplained muscle aches, weakness, kidney problems, thyroid problems, diabetes, and drink more than two glasses of alcohol daily or have had liver problems. It is not known if the combination drug is effective in children.  Also, your doctor should know about your pregnancy status or if you are a lactating mother. He should be informed if you take medicine for:

  — Cholesterol (such as fibrate, nicotinic acid, and gemfibrozil)
  — Heartburn ( such as antacids that contain magnesium and aluminium)
  — Gout (such as colchicine)
  — Your immune system (such as cyclosporine)
  — Infections or antifungals (such as itraconazole, fluconazole, and ketoconazole)
  — Darolutamide (a medicine to treat prostate cancer)
  — Regorafenib (a medicine for treating cancer of the colon and rectum)
  — Antiviral drugs such as ritonavir, tipranavir, simeprevir, lopinavir atazanavir

The most common side effects of Rozavel EZ include nausea, weakness, headache, dizziness, constipation, joint pain, diarrhoea, pain, stomach pain, muscle aches, runny nose, sore throat, tiredness, common cold and flu. Most of these side effects are mild and are resolved within a few days. Combining Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe may cause serious side effects, including allergic reactions and severe anaphylaxis.
