Risnia 2 mg is an antipsychotic medication indicated for the following conditions:
- Schizophrenia (a chronic mental disorder affecting an individual's thoughts, acts, expresses emotions, or perceives reality) in adults and adolescents aged 13 to 17.

- Alone or along with lithium or valproate for the short-term treatment of acute manic or mixed episodes associated with bipolar I disorder (a mental health condition that causes extreme mood swings that include emotional highs and lows) in adults and alone in children and adolescents aged 10 to 17 years.

- Irritability associated with autistic disorder (a developmental disability caused by differences in the brain) in children and adolescents aged 5 to 16 years.
Risnia contains the active ingredient Risperidone, which helps restore the balance of certain chemical messengers in the brain, reducing the symptoms associated with psychotic disorders. Â
Risnia may be taken with or without food or as prescribed. Do not consume alcohol, drive vehicles, or operate heavy machines while receiving Risnia tablets. The recommended initial dose is 2 mg per day, increasing from day two, if required to a maximum of 16 mg per day. The tablet is taken orally once or twice daily, with or without food.
Do not use Risnia 2 mg if allergic to Risperidone or paliperidone. Take immediate medical help if you develop skin rashes, hives, itching, or swelling, especially of the face, throat, and tongue, severe dizziness and difficulty breathing, etc. Risperidone is not recommended for use while breastfeeding. Talk to your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant. Tell your doctor about heart, liver, kidney problems or diabetes. Avoid consuming alcohol, driving vehicles or operating machines, and undergoing treatment with medicine. Risnia is not recommended for children younger than five years of age.
Risnia 2 mg may cause side effects like sleepiness, sedation, drowsiness, tremors, headaches, weight gain, abdominal pain, and speech patterns. Most of these effects are mild and resolve with time. Do not discontinue treatment without consulting your doctor. Talk to your doctor immediately if you develop serious side effects requiring immediate medical attention.Â
