Nebicard 2.5 mg tablets contain Nebivolol, a beta-adrenergic blocking agent used to treat hypertension or to lower blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fat and non-fatal heart diseases, primarily strokes and myocardial infarction. The medicine is not approved for children less than 18 years of age.
You can take Nebicard 2.5 mg before or after consuming food. The dose should be individualized according to the patient’s needs. Do not suddenly stop the treatment. You could have chest pain or a heart attack. If your doctor has advised you to stop Nebivolol, your doctor may slowly lower your dose over time before complete discontinuation. Take medicine daily exactly as prescribed by your doctor. You can take the tablet before or after consuming food. The recommended dose for treating raised blood pressure is two 2.5 mg daily. Elderly patients with a kidney disorder will usually begin treatment with 2.5 mg once a day. The therapeutic effect on blood pressure becomes evident after one to two weeks of treatment. Occasionally, the full effects will reach after four weeks of regular use.
Do not take Nebicard 2.5mg if you have the following:
 — Heart failure or require immediate medical help to keep your blood circulation
 — Slow heartbeat or irregular heartbeat
 — Severe liver damage
 — Allergic to any ingredients present in Nebivolol

Let your doctor know of all the medical conditions, including if you have:
 — Diabetes and receiving treatment to control blood sugar
 — Problems with blood flow in your legs and feet. Nebicard can make symptoms of blood flow problems worse
 — Kidney or liver problems
 — Thyroid problems
 — Asthma or other lung problems
 — Are you allergic to medications or have other allergies
 — Are you pregnant or planning to become pregnant. It is not known if Nebicard is safe and effective to use in pregnant women
 — Are breastfeeding.
 — Are scheduled for surgery and will be given anaesthetic agents

Nebivolol tablets contain lactose. If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars, speak to your doctor before taking medicine. Â Â
- Tiredness
- Headache
- Slow heartbeat
- Low blood pressure and feeling dizzy. If you feel dizzy, sit or lie down and inform your doctor.
Inform your doctor immediately if any of the above becomes bothersome or does not go away within a few days. Also, let your doctor know if you experience any other bothersome side effect that is not listed in the information guide.
