Minirin 0.1 mg is a tablet for oral administration, which rapidly controls thirst and reduces the urge to urinate more often. This helps to manage symptoms in patients with diabetes insipidus (a disorder that causes an imbalance of fluids in the body), thus improving the overall quality of life.
Minirin tablet contains desmopressin, which belongs to a class of medications known as an antidiuretic peptide. It directly acts on the kidneys and reduces the frequency and amount of urine produced by the kidneys. It usually begins to work within an hour and lasts for seven days. This helps to treat incidents of bedwetting in children. Minirin does not cure the condition but prevents bedwetting until the child receives this medicine. In addition to these, it reduces bleeding by promoting the production of blood clotting factors.
Take Minirin 0.1 mg on an empty stomach or after food. Follow your doctor’s advice. Your doctor will decide how many tablets to take and how much to take. You should use it regularly to get the most benefit from the medication. Do not discontinue treatment without your doctor’s approval.
