Melamet cream 15 gm is a prescription treatment for melasma. It provides relief from itching, swelling, and redness associated with the condition. The basic mechanism involved in the treatment of melasma is still not understood. Despite the variety of depigmentation agents available, the treatment of melasma is often unsuccessful and is still a challenge for dermatologists. A triple combination drug is studied in the treatment of melasma. Â Â Â
Several factors may trigger melasma, including pregnancy, use of oral contraceptive antiseizure medications, phototoxic drugs, and genetic influences. But exposure to UV light appears to be one of the most important triggers, and a broad-spectrum sunblock should always be a part of any pigmentation disorder. Using sun protection measures, including sunscreen, has been proven to enhance the effectiveness of melasma treatment. Hydroquinone present in the medication is the most effective topical bleaching agent approved by the Food and drug administration (FDA) to treat melasma. It is known to reduce the synthesis of melanin by inhibiting tyrosinase activity. Tretinoin, the second active ingredient of melamet, enhances hydroquinone penetration and facilitates pigment removal by accelerating keratinocyte turnover. With this triple combination, meaningful improvements can be achieved more rapidly. The topical therapy reduces any redness, rash, pain, or itching that may cause this condition.
Melamet is used for external use only. Follow the usage instructions given on your prescription. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the melasma formulation. Wash your hands after applying the cream. Its regular application helps lighten these dark patches of melasma, usually cause by pregnancy, hormonal drugs, birth control pills, or injury to the skin. Melamet cream 15 gm is also effective in reducing the rash, redness, itchiness, or pain that this skin condition may cause. This improves your self-confidence as your appearance changes. You should always use it as per the doctor’s prescription.
Do not use Melamet cream 15 gm more than the recommended dose. Tell your doctor if you have allergies to any of its ingredients, including hydroquinone, tretinoin, and mometasone. The melasma cream should not be used by a person having skin conditions such as eczema, rosacea, rashes around the mouth or on broken skin anywhere in the body. Do not apply the cream if you have a history of ulcers on the skin, skin tumours, tuberculosis, tuberculosis, viral or fungal infections. Â Inform your doctor if you are already using a topical preparation for other skin conditions, as any of these medications may delay the cation of your melasma cream.
Most side effects do not require any medical help and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Speak to your doctor if they persist or if you are concerned about them. Common side effects of the drug are redness, itching, irritation, and burning. If any of these side effects persist for a longer duration, please consult your doctor. The topical preparation of this medicine is not safe to use in breastfeeding mothers. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or are suffering from any medical condition.
