Lonitab 10 mg contains Minoxidil, an orally active peripheral vasodilator. It is effective in treating hair loss. Minoxidil slows down the progression of hair loss. It promotes hair growth by relaxing and enlarging certain blood vessels so that blood flows through them more easily. Â
Lonitab 10 mg is indicated as adjunctive therapy in adults with severe refractory hypertension, failing to respond to multiple extensive therapies. Talk to your doctor for more information. Â Â Â
Follow your doctor’s advice; stick to the dosing regimen prescribed by your doctor. The dosage requirement may be lower in patients with kidney failure or undergoing chronic dialysis.
For patients with hepatic impairment, dosage adjustment should be considered. Initiate treatment at a reduced dose once daily and titrate up to the lowest effective dose to obtain desired therapeutic dose. Never give any of your Lonitab tablets to a friend or a relative.Â
Furthermore, do not stop taking medicine without speaking to your doctor. If you stop the medicine suddenly, you may experience side effects. Talk to your doctor if you are experiencing side effects. Continue you take medicine for as long as your doctor tells you. Minoxidil tablet is generally prescribed for the long term. Be sure to follow your doctor’s advice.
Lonitab tablets should not be used if hair loss is caused by the medicines used for certain conditions (such as cancer) or a nutritional deficiency. Let your doctor know if you have high blood pressure or are using other creams or lotions to treat your scalp conditions. Your doctor should also be aware of your pregnancy status or if you are breastfeeding. Â
Some common side effects of Lonitab 10mg include excessive hair loss, temporary hair thinning, fluid retention, light-headedness, low blood pressure, headaches, and increased heart rate. Speak to your doctor if they persist for a long time or worsen.
