US Brand Name | Glycolic Acid Cream |
Strength | 30 Gm |
Generic Name | Glycolic Acid |
Glycolic acid cream has been recognized as an important adjunctive therapy in various conditions, including photodamage, rosacea, acne, hyperpigmentation disorders, fine lines, wrinkles, melasma, and seborrheic keratoses. It contains the active ingredient Glycolic acid, which has antioxidant and antibacterial properties. It decomposes to produce oxygen when applied to the skin, and this oxygen acts as an anti-bactericidal that destroys the bacteria responsible for causing bacteria.
Glycolic acid penetrates the skin and helps in making the skin colour lighter, reducing the dark spots caused by sun exposure or facial marks due to pimples or dark patches on the face. It helps in exfoliating dead skin cells and unplugging blocked skin pores. Glyco cream has anti-aging properties, too; it helps reduces fine lines and wrinkles.        Â
Use Glyco cream as directed by your doctor, and read the instructions carefully on your prescription. This cream is for dermatologic use; apply it on a skin surface free from cuts and wounds. Wash your hands before and after using the topical product. Avoid touching the tip of the tube directly to the infected area. If your eyes come in contact with the topical medicine, immediately rinse your eyes thoroughly with clean water. It is best to be mused at night before you sleep.
Talk to your doctor if you experience any allergic reactions and do not feel any improvement in your condition or if your condition worsens after using the cream. Discontinue treatment and inform your doctor. Please avoid using the medication for the long term or applying it in excess. Long-term usage can make your skin more susceptible to skin burns. Apply sunscreen and wear protective clothing whenever you step out in the sun. You should not use this cream if you are allergic to Glycolic acid cream. Always inform your healthcare provider about all your medicines and pre-existing health conditions, especially skin-related problems.
Common side effects of Glyco cream include erythema, itching, skin irritation, rash, and itching. Most of these side effects are mild and go away after some time if you get any other side effect that becomes bothersome or does not resolve within a few days.
