Gabapin 600mg contains Gabapentin, an anticonvulsive medication useful in certain types of neural pain control. It got FDA approval for partial seizure therapy.
Gabapentin tablets belong to a group of drugs used to treat epilepsy and peripheral neuropathic pain. It treats seizures that are initially limited to certain types of the brain, whether the seizure spreads to other parts of the brain or not. You may be given this medication to help treat your epilepsy when your current treatment cannot fully control your condition. Your doctor may ask you to take Gabapin tablets in addition to your current treatment. The medicine is effective for adults and children over 12 years of age.
The anticonvulsant is equally effective in treating peripheral neuropathic pain (long-lasting pain caused by damage to the nerves). There are a variety of medical conditions that can cause pain in the legs and arms, such as diabetes and shingles. Peripheral neuropathic pain may appear as throbbing, shooting, sharp, cramping, numbness, pins, needles, etc.
Always take Gabapin 600 mg exactly as your doctor has told you. You should check with your doctor if you doubt the correct dosing regimen. Your doctor will decide what dose is appropriate for you. If you think the medicine is not improving your symptoms, talk to your doctor as soon as possible. If you are elderly over 65 years of age, you should take the normal dose of Gabapentin tablets unless you have problems with your kidneys. Continue to take medicine until your doctor tells you to stop. Gabapentin pills are for oral use. You can take it before or after consuming food. The tablets should be swallowed with plenty of water. Follow your doctor’s instructions for the correct dose of the medicine. The doctor will decide the dose to be given to your child as it is calculated against your kid’s weight.
Please tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. In particular, if you are taking other medicines for convulsions, depression, anxiety, sleeping disorders, or any other neurological or psychiatric problems. Medicines containing opioids such as morphine may increase the effect of Gabapin tabs.
Drug reaction with Eosinophilia and systematic symptoms, also known as multiorgan hypersensitivity, has occurred in patients who received Gabapentin in clinical trials.
Talk to your doctor before taking Gabapin tablets if you suffer from kidney problems, develop persistent stomach pain, nervous system disorders, respiratory disorders, or are more than 65-year-old. If any of these conditions apply to you, your doctor may prescribe a different dosing regimen.
The medicine's very common side effects are feeling tired, dizziness, lack of coordination, fever, feeling tired, and viral infection. A small number of people taking Gabapentin formulation get an allergic reaction or potentially serious skin reaction which may progress to a more serious problem.
