Doxazosin is a selective antagonist of alpha adrenergic receptor. It is given in the treatment of Hypertension and also reduces the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. It can be used alone or in combination with other in the treatment of hypertension.
This drug belongs to the class of alpha blockers. Alpha blockers cause smooth muscle relaxation helps in improving blood flow and lowers blood pressure as well. They also relax the bladder muscles and improve urine flow in older men.
