Deriva MS aqueous gel is a topical retinoid-based gel that enhances acne treatment results. It contains the active Adapalene to treat mild and moderate acne, characterized by black and whiteheads and other pimples. Adapalene is a retinoid class of drugs that acts by loosening the cells on the skin’s surface and opening blocked pores by reducing oil production in the skin. It also reduces inflammation and destroys or prevents the growth of bacteria on your skin.

Deriva MS aqueous gel is not for oral or ophthalmic use. Follow your dermatologist’s instructions when using Deriva MS aqueous gel. Generally, patients are advised to apply the topical medication once a day. Make sure you do not apply Deriva gel in excess, as excessive usage may increase your chance of skin irritation. Before applying the gel, wash the acne-prone skin using a mild cleanser and pat the skin dry. The gel formulation comes in a pump that you must depress to dispense a pea-sized amount and spread evenly over the affected skin area. To achieve the desired results, continue the treatment with Deriva Adapalene gel for the recommended period. After examining your skin condition, your dermatologist will decide the treatment duration, medicinal quantity, and number of applications.
Precautions (Things to remember, allergies, and warnings)
Avoid sun exposure or exposure to artificial sunlight sources such as tanning beds or lamps. Deriva MS may make your skin sensitive to the sun, artificial sunlamps, and tanning booths. Therefore, wearing protective clothing and good-quality sunscreen is extremely important to protect your skin from sun rays. Also, you should avoid using cosmetics that cause excessive dryness, ultimately causing skin irritation. Such products may include medicated or harsh soaps, astringents, or products containing high alcohol levels, limes, and spices. Adapalene may cause redness, dryness, scaling, stinging, or burning sensation. Using a skin moisturizer may help to lessen these skin issues. Avoid using hair removal methods like waxing on skin treated with Deriva MS gel. The gel may bleach your clothes and hair. To avoid bleaching your clothes, allow the formulation to dry completely before you dress up. It is still not known if Adapalene is safe and effective in children under twelve years of age. Do not use any other topical preparation on the Deriva MS-treated skin area without asking your dermatologist.
Side effects of Deriva MS aqueous gel
Along with desired effects, a pharmaceutical agency may cause unwanted effects. Although not everyone who uses Adapalene experiences side effects, in case they do occur, they may require medical attention. Check with your dermatologist if you develop common side effects such as dryness, peeling of the skin, flushing or skin redness, and unusually warm skin. Other less common side effects include:
    –   Crusting, blistering, burning, or flaking of the skin
   –   Redness, itching, skin rash, soreness, or swelling at the application site.
   –   Devere redness or scaling
Some side effects associated with Deriva MS use do not need medical attention. These side effects may resolve during the treatment while you adjust to the topical medicine. Moreover, your dermatologist will also advise you on ways to reduce or prevent the occurrence of these side effects. Be careful and closely watch for issues that persist or become bothersome.
