Dabigo 110 mg is used to reduce the risk of blood clots and stroke in people with atrial fibrillation, in which part of the heart does not beat the way it should. This results in the formation of blood clots and increases your risk of stroke. Dabigo contains the active ingredient Dabigatran, a blood thinner that lowers the risk of developing blood clots in your body. It is not known if the medicine is safe to use in children.
Take Dabigo capsules exactly as your doctor has told you to. You can take the capsule before or after consuming food. Swallow the capsule whole with a glass full of water. Do not chew, break, or open the capsule. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the medicine. Do not discontinue treatment without first talking with your doctor. Stopping Dabigatran may increase your risk of stroke.
Do not take Dabigo in the following cases:
  — Have had a serious allergic reaction to Dabigatran. Speak to your doctor if you are not sure.
  — Currently have abnormal bleeding. Inform your doctor before taking Dabigo if you currently have unusual bleeding.
Do not use Dabigatran for a condition for which it is not prescribed.Â
Before you take Dabigo, inform your doctor if you have:
  — Renal insufficiency
  — Stomach ulcers
  — Liver problems
  — Plan to become pregnant. It is not known if Dabigatran will harm your unborn baby.
  — Breastfeeding your child. It is unknown if Dabigo passes into breast milk.
Let your doctor know if you are taking Dabigatran before you have any surgery, medical, or dental procedure. Also, inform your doctor about all your medicines, including prescription and non-prescription, vitamins, and herbal solutions. Some of your other medicines may affect the mode of action of Dabigatran. Certain drugs may increase the risk of bleeding. Especially inform your doctor if you take Rifampin.                                                                                                                                               Â
Dabigo can cause serious side effects. In some people, this medicine can cause symptoms of an allergic reaction, including rash, itching, and hives. Tell your doctor or get immediate medical help if you get any of the following symptoms of a serious allergic reaction:
  — Swelling of your face or tongue
  — Trouble breathing or wheezing
  — Chest pain or tightness
  — Feeling dizzy or faint
Common side effects of the medicine Dabigatran include stomach pain, indigestion, burning, or stomach pain. Tell your doctor if you have any side effect that troubles you or do not resolve within a few days. These are not all the possible side effects of Dabigo. For more information, ask your doctor.
