Cipmox CV 625 (500+125) mg is a combination medicine that helps fight body infections caused by bacteria. It combines Amoxycillin and clavulanic acid to treat infections of the lungs (pneumonia), nasal sinus, ear, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissue. The combination medicine will not work for viral infections like the common cold.
Amoxycillin is an antibiotic discovered to treat bacterial infections that mainly target the ear, sinus, throat, skin, joints, teeth, bones, and urinary tract. It has a bactericidal effect by destroying the bacterial cell wall, which is required to multiply bacteria. Another active ingredient, clavulanic acid, is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that reduces resistance and increases the activity of Amoxycillin against bacteria.
Taking Cipmox CV (500+125) mg with a meal is best to reduce the risk of stomach upset. The recommended dose will depend on what you are being treated for, but you should always complete the course of treatment as your doctor prescribes. Do not discontinue treatment until you finish the course, even if you feel better. Stopping the medication early may cause the bacteria to survive, and the infection may return or worsen.
