Campicillin 250 mg is an antibiotic drug used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It contains the active ingredient Ampicillin, effective in bacterial infections of the nose, throat, lungs, urinary tract, and skin. Being an antibiotic agent, Campicillin acts by killing the bacteria responsible for causing an infection in your body. The medicine may make you feel better within a few days, but you should continue taking it for the prescribed period even if you feel fine. Stopping the treatment may make the infection return and harder to treat.
The medicine is for oral use; absorption of the drug is impaired by food. Therapy can be started as per dosing recommendations provided by a doctor. Swallow with a glass full of water without opening the capsule.
Campicillin 250mg is an antibiotic medication that stops the growth of many types of bacteria. It should be used on an empty stomach. In general, it is taken usually four times a day. There is limited evidence available on the use of the medicine in patients with hepatic insufficiency. Simultaneous use with oral contraceptives may lead to increased risk of breakthrough bleeding and reduced efficacy of the contraceptive drug. You may be more prone to get a rash with the concomitant use of allopurinol. Probenecid increases blood levels. Alert your doctor if you are taking any other medications, including prescription or herbal products.
Campicillin 250 mg is less toxic as compared to any other antibiotics. Side effects are rare and hardly occurs. These include headache, nausea, vomiting nausea, weakness, stomach pain, and diarrhoea.
