Betavert is a prescription medicine used for patients with vertigo, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and hearing loss associated with Meniere's disease. It works by reducing the pressure in your inner ear.
Always take Betavert exactly as your doctor has instructed you. Talk to your doctor if you have doubts about this medicine's usage. Swallow the tablet with a glass of water. Always take the tablet before consuming food. The usual starting dose of Betavert for adults and the elderly is 16 mg thrice daily. After you have received the drug for a while, your doctor may change the dose to between 24 and 48 mg a day. Do not stop taking medicine without speaking to your doctor. Do not take Betavert if you are allergic to betahistine or other medicine ingredients. The symptoms of an allergic reaction include itching, wheezing, nettle rash, or swelling of the eyelids, mouth, and throat. Like all medicines, Betavert 16 mg causes side effects, although not everybody gets them. Some patients may experience allergic reactions such as swelling of the face, tongue, or neck. This may cause trouble breathing. Inflamed, itchy skin and red skin may also occur. Common side effects associated with the use of Betahistine include nausea, headache, and indigestion. Other side effects include hives, rash, itching, vomiting, and bloating. Taking Betavert tablets with a meal can help reduce any stomach problems.
