Azee 1000 mg is an antibiotic drug prescribed to treat numerous infections caused by bacteria. It has the active ingredient Azithromycin, which comes under the drug class known as macrolide antibiotics useful for treating infections, including:
- Infection of sinuses, throat, tonsils, or ears.
- Chest infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis
- Mild to moderate skin and soft tissue infections such as infection of the hair follicles, skin infections with swelling, bacterial infection of the skin, and deeper layers.
- Tube inflammation that carries urine from your bladder or where your womb joins your vagina.
Take Azee 1000 mg tablets exactly as your doctor tell you. You should check with your doctor if you are not sure about the drug’s usage. Usually, antibiotic medication should be used as a single daily dose. Swallow the tablet, preferably with a glass of water before or after consuming the food.
For the inflammation of the urethra or cervix caused by Chlamydia, Azee 1000 mg is used as a single dose for once-daily administration.
The treatment is indicated for adults and adolescents 16 years of age and over. A doctor may need to alter their dose according to their condition for patients with kidney or liver problems. Contact your doctor immediately if you swallow a lot of the tablets. An overdose is likely to cause severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and reversible hearing loss.
Avoid taking Azee 1000 mg if you are allergic to Azithromycin or any other macrolide antibiotic such as clarithromycin or erythromycin. Talk to your doctor before taking Azee 1000 mg if you have ever had an allergic reaction causing swelling of the face, throat, possibly with breathing difficulties. Talk to you before taking Azee 1000 mg if you have a serious allergic reaction, kidney problems, liver disease, myasthenia gravis, behavioural issues, and neurological disease. Let your doctor know of all the medications you have been using, including ergotamine, to treat migraine. Azithromycin is not recommended if you are taking ergot alkaloids. The antibiotic medication may increase your risk of abnormal rhythm; therefore, it is important to inform your doctor if you have an irregular heartbeat, have low potassium or magnesium levels in the blood, and take antiarrhythmics to affect the heart rhythm. If you develop severe diarrhea that persists during or after the treatment, especially if you notice blood or mucous, inform your doctor straight away. If your diarrheal symptoms persist even at the end of your antibiotic treatment, contact your doctor.
Like all antibiotics, Azee 1000 mg can cause side effects, although not everybody who is receiving antibiotic therapy experiences side effects. The medicine's common side effects include abdominal pain, feeling sick, diarrhea, flatulence, headache, indigestion, dizziness, tiredness, low blood bicarbonate, skin rash, itching, and visual disturbances, deafness, and joint pain. If you experience any unwanted effect while using Azithromycin, tell your doctor right away.
