Asthalin Rotacaps 200 mcg contains Salbutamol, a selective beta2 adrenoreceptor agonist prescribed to treat or prevent bronchospasm. It is believed to provide short-acting bronchodilation in reversible airways obstruction due to asthma, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis. Salbutamol relieves symptoms of asthma when they occur and prevent them before a known trigger. Each capsule for inhalation purposes contains 200 micrograms of Salbutamol. Asthalin Rotacaps are used in a plastic device called Rotahaler. If you have any questions related to the use of this medicine, please speak to your doctor.
Asthalin rotacaps has a duration of action of 4 to 6 hours in most patients. Increasing the use of beta2 agonists could be an indication of worsening asthma. Under these conditions, the patient’s treatment plan needs to be reassessed, and concomitant glucocorticosteroid therapy should be considered. As there may be adverse effects associated with excessive dosing, dose adjustment should only be made on medical advice. Do not swallow the medicine. The medicine is for inhalation purposes only. The Rotahaler opens the capsule (rotacap) and releases the powder. Make sure you have Rotahaler (device) and can use it properly. Instructions on how to use your Asthalin Rotacaps with the Rotahaler are provided on your prescription. Please follow the instructions carefully. If you have any doubt, please talk to your doctor. You should visit your doctor regularly to check that you are using the medicine correctly. If you are not breathing the medicine in the right way, the medicine may not be helping you as much as it could. Do not discontinue treatment without first discussing it with your doctor. Immediately call your doctor if you take more medicine, even if there are no signs of discomfort and allergic reactions. Â
Salbutamol is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of its components. It should be used in patients with severe milk-protein allergy or a history of hypersensitivity to Salbutamol or any of its components.Â
The management of asthma should normally follow a process, and the patient’s response should be monitored clinically and by a lung functions test. Â
Check with your doctor as soon as possible if you think you are experiencing any unwanted effects or allergic reactions due to using Asthalin Rotacaps. In general, most of the side effects are minor and temporary. However, some may be serious and may need medical attention. The most reported side effects associated with Salbutamol use are nausea, headache, warm feeling, restlessness, shaky or tense feeling, mouth or throat irritation, or heart beating faster than usual. Discontinue treatment and inform your doctor immediately if you notice a skin rash, dizziness, or angioedema. These could be signs of an allergic reaction. In some people, Salbutamol may affect their blood potassium levels. Your doctor may need to monitor you for this condition.
