Alcoliv 500 mg is an antioxidant agent effective at treating alcoholic fatty acids. It contains the active ingredient Metodoxine, which protects the liver from harmful chemical substances and increases alcohol elimination from the tissues and blood. The symptoms develop due to liver damage caused by alcohol abuse and misuse. When the disease progresses, it may not cause any symptoms until the individual's liver has undergone widespread damage. Metodoxine fastens the clearance of alcohol from the bloodstream and therefore helps treat fatty liver due to alcoholism. Â Â Â
Alcoliv 500 mg is available in the form of a tablet, and this makes it easier to be consumed orally with a sufficient amount of water. Completely swallow this medicine with a glass full of water. Do not chew it. The recommended dose for adults is 500 mg once daily with sufficient water. This medicine can be given along with the meal per the doctor's recommendation. The dose should be changed per the patient's response towards the tablet, but only under the supervision of your doctor. Consult your doctor after a regular time interval of 3 to 4 weeks.
Alcoliv tablets should not be used if you are allergic to Metadoxine or its inactive ingredients. Before taking Alcoliv, it is important to tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Taking this medicine can reduce or increase the effect of certain other medicines, so inform your doctor about all the other medications you are taking. You should avoid the consumption of alcohol with Alcoliv tablets.Â
Common side effects of Alcoliv 500 mg are nausea, diarrhoea, and upset stomach. Not everyone who uses this medicine experience side effects. If you are concerned about them or they do not resolve, inform your doctor immediately. Your doctor may lower the dose or stop the treatment if you develop severe diarrhoea. Consume adequate water and fluids to stay hydrated in case of severe diarrhoea.Â
