Susten 100 mg helps to restore menstrual cycles in women whose periods have stopped. Each Susten tablet contains 100 mg of Progesterone as an active ingredient. Progesterone is a naturally occurring female hormone produced by an ovary, which is important for regulating ovulation and the menstruation cycle. It relieves symptoms of menopause, such as mood swings, vaginal dryness, reduced sex drive and night sweats.
Since menopause can last for several years, Susten can significantly affect your daily life and mood. However, the medicine may not treat all your symptoms. Talk to your doctor for more information. Susten also helps to establish and maintain pregnancy. It causes menstrual periods in women who have not reached menopause but are not having periods due to a lack of progesterone hormone in the body. It helps to prevent the increase in thickness of the endometrium (lining of the uterus), preparing the uterus for pregnancy. This improves the chances of a successful pregnancy. Your doctor may ask you to continue taking Susten capsules for a period after becoming pregnant.
A sterile oil solution should be given through an Intramuscular route. It is advised to use this medication exactly as per your doctor’s instructions, and it should not be self-administered at home. Do not use this drug if it looks lumpy or grainy, discolored, or if the bottle or vial looks frosted. You may be asked to take this medication for some time after you receive the confirmation that you are pregnant. Â
Susten may suit everyone, and you should inform your healthcare provider if you have or have had unusual bleeding in the vagina, liver disease, or breast cancer. You may be monitored more carefully if you are suffering from kidney, liver, or heart problems or have diabetes or asthma. Check with your health care professional about all medicines that may affect or be affected by these medicines. You may be asked to have several tests both before and during treatments to check your womb. This drug can alter your thinking or response, and you may feel tired, so take extra caution if you drive or need to be attentive.
The most common side effects include nausea, vomiting, headache, bloating, and abdominal pain.  Some patients may also feel less interested in sex and get pain or discharge in the vagina. Your healthcare provider may be able to help you reduce or prevent side effects and seek immediate medical help if they become troublesome or are not resolved with time. Occasionally, people experience allergic reactions that require urgent medical help. The use of this medicine increases the risk of blood clots or breast cancer.Â
